Finbourne Technology – Financial data infrastructure

Finbourne develops modern financial data infrastructure designed to liberate institutions from the limitations of legacy systems. At an early stage of growth, the leadership team needed a clearer and more confident expression of that ambition.

Challenge
In a sector built on trust and credibility, the identity needed to balance innovation with enterprise confidence. The brand had to communicate a simple proposition: liberate financial institutions from outdated systems, simplify complexity, and connect fragmented data environments.

Although the initial brief focused on developing a new logo, it became clear that the opportunity extended further – to realign the visual expression with the company’s strategic intent.

Approach
The process centred on distilling Finbourne’s positioning – Liberate. Simplify. Connect. – into a disciplined visual language. Rather than adding complexity, the aim was to create something intelligent and directional that could support long-term ambition.

This led to the development of the Finbourne “Flag” – a mark of liberation and forward movement, while signalling clarity and alignment across the organisation.

Solution
A refined identity established a more confident foundation for growth – restrained, precise and built to communicate clearly in a complex sector. The new marque, typographic direction and visual framework created a unified expression of the company’s positioning.

Outcome
The identity gave Finbourne a stronger and more aligned presence during a significant stage of growth, including a $25 million Series A investment. It clarified the company’s position within the financial technology sector and provided a coherent platform for continued expansion.

Solv carefully absorbed the brief while also challenging us to think differently. The thinking was logical yet brought us to areas of visual expression that we would not otherwise have considered. The outcome is simple but powerfully expressive of our positioning and stands out clearly against competitors. The Finbourne flag now unites the business – the easiest internal adoption of a new identity I can remember in a lifetime in marketing.
